A very active place, the Washington Township Community Park is one of the favorite green destinations in the Avon Parks and Recreation system. With 2-1/2 miles of well organized trails for mountain biking and walking, basketball and volleyball courts, 75 whole acres of horseshoe pits, and playgrounds, it's easy to understand why.
The park even has a large pond stocked with fish.
The list of ongoing Avon events and activities happening at the Avon-Washington Township Community Parkis so long that a visit to the park is one of the most popular things to do in Avon. The park is, for example, the site of the annual Avon Community Heritage Fest, set in late September and attended by all and sundry. There is a "Music in the Park" summer concert series, as well as the Old Farm Market, and the Avon Kids Camp during the summer.
Three different shelters are available for rent at the Avon-Washington Township Community Park. The Gazebo can accommodate up to 30, the "Small Shelter" can take up to 60 and the "Large Shelter" is for up to 125 people.
